NHEMBA Festival celebrates the region’s rich musical and artistic spirit. Like the cherished nhemba sprout - simple and versatile - music here grows in many forms, spreading through the area, province and country. This festival is about sharing that growth, connecting with the world, blending local sounds with global influences and bringing together music, dance, visual art and community in accessible, creative ways.

from INHAMBANE
by car:
The Lindela turnoff, which leads to the Inhambane peninsula, is approximately 444 km north of Maputo or 270 km south of Vilanculos via the EN1.
From there, it's 31 km via the N5 to Inhambane city center. Find your way to the local beaches Tofo and Barra via the N242.
After 13 km, you'll reach the NHEMBA playgrounds, located on a long straight near the Yum Yum Supermarket.
by bus from Maputo:
Medium-sized buses to Inhambane depart from "Junta"- Bus Terminal in Maputo daily in the morning hours, starting at 5 a.m. and cost approximately 1,000 Mets.
The ETRAGO bus company offers a little more space and departs from Rua Carlos Morgado in Maputo.
by bus from Beira or Vilanculos:
Coming from the North, the best way is to get off at Maxixe and take the boat to Inhambane, which takes you to the pier (Ponte Cais) in Inhambane.

from INHAMBANE CITY to the FESTIVAL and back
There are Chapas and an hourly bus transport departing regularly towards the Festival from the Central Market in Inhambane. You can also take one of the Chopelas or Taxis that are waiting at the Central Market.
